Bottom Line Up Front: Sean comes to the team with a solid coding background in multiple languages and a passion for computer science. We can’t wait to see him put his skills to work on our Success Squad!

Having a hand in the computer science world isn’t necessarily a prerequisite for working with InkSoft. But it certainly can help since we offer a robust e-commerce platform. Our technical support team, the Success Squad, helps InkSoft customers get started and answers all the essential questions as your printing business grows. And, that’s why we’re excited to welcome a new member to the Success Squad.

Meet Sean Thompson. Sean’s been part of the tech world since his early college days. He studied Computer Science at Arizona State University and found a great role after college running technical operations at a large web company. Shortly after, he moved up the ranks into more managerial positions.

Career Path

Sean loves positions that require him to be versatile and wear multiple hats. Before graduating from ASU, he served as a project manager implementing a large fiber optic installation project in downtown Phoenix for a local company called Satellite Management Services.

From there, he moved on to a position as an implementation specialist at ZocDoc. After that, Sean says he served as a Technical Operations Manager at a local design firm called Heckler Design. Over time, Sean says he started looking at new avenues for his career.

He’s since been practicing coding in his free time –  mostly HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Python – and working on personal projects. Eventually, InkSoft was brought to his attention by being a local company.

“In the interest of refocusing on my initial passion, I looked for local web companies that seemed awesome,” he says. “And, I quickly came across InkSoft.”

Hobbies and Family

Sean stays busy both at InkSoft and at home.

“I’ve got a five-month-old baby, so sleep always ranks pretty high on the list,” says Sean.

His other hobbies include rooting for the near-champion Phoenix Suns, playing games like Magic the Gathering, and watching movies. When conditions permit, Sean also loves traveling.

Goals and Visions

Sean says, with his history of wearing many hats, he’s first and foremost a team player, and he’s very interested in getting involved with the product side of development. And he’s still excited to continue building his coding skills.

“Lots of the roles I’ve taken on have allowed me to use my coding skills in a supporting way, and hopefully, I’m able to make them a primary focus at some point in the near future,” he states.

When asked what he envisions for his time at InkSoft, Sean says that InkSoft is “a great place to be with a lot of cool people; I look forward to seeing this team and company grow.”
